It has been planned by the Ministry of Environment of Saudi Arabia to build sea water desalination plants in many cities in order to meet daily water needs. During the foundation excavation of the plant, whose construction was previously completed, in the city of Qunfudhah, dewatering could not be achieved and the contract for the Secant Pile and Dewatering works was signed on January 13, 2020 with Advanced Water, Sete, Rawafid and Alfatah Joint Venture.
Secant Pile installation was started on January 20, 2020 and a total of 3,600 m of production was completed as of March 16, 2020. After the completion of the pile constructions, the stability of the shoring structure was ensured with 2 rows of steel pipe support. The dewatering work to be carried out for 90 days after the completion of the concrete works was started on March 27, 2020. Due to prohibitions imposed after the Covid-19 epidemic and the restricted working hours, the construction was completed on July 25, 2020. Dewatering works were completed on October 15, 2020.
