Aktau is Kazakhstan’s main port on the Caspian Sea and serves as the major logistics base for the offshore oil fields. The ENKA-Bechtel joint venture signed the contract with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transportation for the Aktau Port rehabiliation project. The port had to be kept operational throughout construction. A total of 592 vertical and raked steel pipe piles of 660 mm diameter, 106 raked piles of 865 mm diameter and 8,400 m2 sheet piles were driven by KASKTAŞ.
