The water supply for the on-going King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC); which is located on the shoreline of Red Sea, will be supported with the Solar Desalination Plant with a capacity of purifying 30,000 m3 of sea water for domestic use of the city. The contract for the Water Inlet Structure Secant Pile works within the scope of the project was signed with Akon International on August 1, 2019. Within the scope of the project; 2,900 m of 1000 mm diameter secant pile and dewatering drillings were completed between July 1 and October 1, 2019.
